Terms of Use for Open Data Portals and Datasets

Description

All data and datasets published by the Republic of Djibouti on this open data portal provided by the African Development Bank are provided under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 international license (CC-BY 4.0). The Institute of Statistics of Djibouti (INSTAD) provides users with free access to the portal, in compliance with the terms of this agreement and the general conditions of use of the INSTAD website, which are incorporated into these Portal Terms. Although this open data portal is governed by the CC-BY 40 license, INSTAD’s website terms and conditions also apply to this portal.

In the event that these Portal Conditions conflict with the General Conditions, these Conditions shall prevail. The use of data derived from the datasets, presented in the form of tables and graphs, is also subject to these conditions.

Grant of License

Users are encouraged to use the datasets on this website for their own benefit and that of others in creative ways. Users are allowed to extract, download and create copies of the data contained in the datasets, as well as to share the data with third parties under the conditions of use described below, while mentioning the source of the data.

By using (as defined below) or downloading the Datasets from INSTAD’s Websites, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions of a CC-BY 4.0 license, as well as the specified terms of this licence. INSTAD grants users around the world non-exclusive and irrevocable freedom to use data and databases, without copyright, without the possibility of sublicensing, under the following conditions:

Attribution

Users must attribute any public use of the Database, or works produced from the Database, to the author and/or owner of the copyrighted material, which includes sourcing a link to the data source. However, users should make it clear that the licensor (INSTAD) does not endorse any resulting work created from the data.

When sharing or facilitating access to datasets, users must incorporate the same acknowledgment condition into all data sublicenses granted, and require sublicenses to do the same.

Prior notice

• Keep copyright and license notices intact. For any use or redistribution of data or works produced from the database, users must specify the database license and keep intact all copyright and notices contained in the original database. Nor may you apply any legal terms or technical measures that legally prevent others from using the data in the manner permitted by this license.

State Changes

INSTAD reserves the right to pursue, in compliance with the laws, any use of its datasets in such a way as to falsify, misrepresent, denigrate or fraudulently use the elements provided in these datasets.

Confidentiality: INSTAD will not release private or confidential information as open data or any other information with public safety or national security implications.

Data Publishing: Data published on this platform is published in human-readable and computer-readable formats, with a preference for open standards to encourage large-scale reuse. INSTAD confirms that all data available on this platform are maintained and updated at regular intervals.

Exclusion of liability: INSTAD cannot be held liable to users for any loss or damage of any kind resulting from the use of the datasets. INSTAD shall also not be held responsible for the accuracy, interpretation, usefulness or availability of the data contained in the datasets.
